The Best Day Ever!

WOW! This wedding was pure magic. Every last detail was spot on and the day was so perfect. We LOVED their Cathedral of Saint Joseph ceremony followed by a reception at The Country Club of Sioux Falls. Madeline started of her big day with her girls at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown getting their hair and makeup completed by Bombshell Beauty & Shelon Artistry.

The day was photographed beautifully by A.Jo Fotografi. The florals were completed by Meredith & Bridget’s Flower Shop. The soft tones of the flower mixed with the elegant look of the attire made a perfect match.

The ceremony was a beautiful Catholic mass at the Cathedral.

DJ CHRIS HINTZ with Pinnacle Productions lead the night with great tunes & a Photo Booth. Ideal Wedding & Events provided the rentals to make the reception sparkle. While the couple’s wedding guests made their way to the cocktail hour, Mr. & Mrs. Juhl hopped on a bus with their bridal party provided by Stellar Limo.

What a beautiful couple! THANK YOU for choosing Loghin to help assist and design your big day! We are so happy for you two!

Mr. & Mrs. Chaz & Anna Fey

April 29, 2017

This wedding was extra special to me because it was the day my best friend & cousin, Anna, married her best friend, Chaz. I was so honored to be her Maid of Honor & also her wedding planner. We did all of the planning together and Jessica did the day of coordination.

Chaz & Anna wanted a private ceremony with their closest friends and family. Icon Lounge & Event Hall in downtown Sioux Falls was the ceremony venue and it was absolutely beautiful! The ladies started off their day by getting their hair and makeup completed by Platinum Imagination & Shelon Artistry!

The couple agreed to not see each other before the ceremony which led to amazing emotions and beautiful memories! Anna & her father, Jim Entenman, did a first look before he escorted his beautiful daughter down the aisle. Flower Mill did a phenomenal job with the florals and decor. Christine Egan and her quartet provided the instrumentals for the ceremony while Pinnacle Productions helped with all of the sound & production. Mayor Mike did a great job as the couples officiant.

After the ceremony, the bridal party headed onto a trolley provided by Stellar Limo to take more photos with Wes Eisenhauer while the guests headed to the Sioux Falls Convention center for a night for fun & celebration. DJ KOR with Pinnacle Productions provided the entertainment, lighting design, photo booth and PINStudios did the videography.

The Cake Lady provided a beautiful wedding cake & dessert bar. Ideal Wedding & Events provided the rentals & chandeliers. Chaz & Anna were gifted a live painting of their first dance by Jillian Artistry from the Entenman family.

Anna designed all of the paper products herself! It was truly a beautiful wedding and I am so happy you chose me as your MOH & Serendipitous as your planner! What a beautiful day that will be cherished forever!

We love you two! Cheers to forever!

Mr. & Mrs. Morgan & Bryan Wehrkamp

December 16, 2016

“Ahhhh.. What a dream!” Those are the words that come to mind when I think about this stunning winter wedding last month. When I got asked to assist Morgan & Bryan in planning their big day- I was so honored! These two people are some of the most loving, dedicated & passionate individuals I have ever met.

Morgan & Bryan said “I DO” at Icon Event Hall surrounded by their dearest friends & family. They opted to wait until Morgan walked down the aisle to see each other but spent time reading letters together… Such a special moment! Morgan’s hair & makeup was done by Lacey Mae.

The snow was falling & the temperature was chilly but the love & compassion that surrounded the couple on their big day was unmeasurable.

Details, details & more details… The reception consisted of memory chairs, Bryan singing to his bride, a surprise honeymoon from the bride’s mom, a breathtaking cake by Kresha Tracy & so much love! The florals were done by the Flower Mill.

What an amazing day! Thank you Dan Thorson Photography for the stunning photos. A video by Ludeman Productions is coming soon!

Simply Serendipity: Reese’s 5th Birthday

Our First Simply Serendipity Event Featuring

Reese’s 5th Birthday!

All Reese wanted for her 5th birthday was her friends to enjoy a Dory themed pool party. We decided to have her party at the Sanford Wellness Center on Tea-Ellis road. With the help of some stellar event professionals, the event was a complete success!

Allana at studiofotografie was so willing to help us with this great event by photographing the afternoon so beautifully! Reese & her friends loved posing for the camera. Johnathan with Bravo Photography provided us with a video of the day for Reese to enjoy for many years to come.

The balloons were donated by Ryan at Queen City Balloon Bar. They were so fun & a complete hit. Our dear friend Anna at The Cake Lady designed Reese the perfect cake… Reese’s favorite is the whale 🙂

Molly Meester Designs did a phenomenal job designing custom invitations, water bottle labels, snack labels & signage. So fun & creative! Reese loved her invitation so much that she carried it around her house! 🙂

The kids all swam like fish & had so so much fun celebrating Reese!

Thank you to Reese’s parents for being so willing to let us come into their home & get to know them throughout the process. They are amazing people and we are so fortunate to be forever connected with them.

Please join us in following Reese’s Story HERE.

Mr. & Mrs. Cory & Tara Steffen

October 15, 2016

These two lovebirds were JUNIOR HIGH SWEETHEARTS! How often do you hear that?! I have known Tara since elementary school and I was SO excited when she asked me to plan her dream wedding day! The day started off at the Meadow Barn with the ladies getting their hair done by Landon with Beauty by Blow & Makeup by Julie Eddy.

The theme for the decor was rustic elegance. Elaborations by Joyce Naber did a great job with the florals and centerpieces. The cake and cupcakes were designed  by Taylor’d Cakes.

Tara & Cory’s ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Church with the reception/dance at the Meadow Barn. The couple opted not to see each other prior to Tara walking down the aisle. Before heading to the church, Tara & Cory held hands at the barn and read a letter to each other without Cory seeing his beautiful bride.

Jason with Energy Event Group led the night on as the DJ along with providing a photo booth & lighting affects. The photos were captured by Tyler with Jake Photography.

The wedding party consisted of the couple’s lifelong best friends who were so excited to share in their big day with them. 1481 Grille catered the food and Brekan Designs completed the paper products along with the videography of the whole day.

I wish you two a lifetime of happiness and love. Thank you so much for choosing myself & Serendipitous Events.

Mr. & Mrs. Stephanie & Mason Landon

September 24, 2016

Stephanie and I have been friends since Freshman year of high school. I was so excited when she asked me to help plan her and her husband Mason’s wedding! The ladies all started off the big day in comfy workout clothing because that is one of couple’s strongest passions- fitness! Hair & Makeup was done by Landon Blow and Jenny Todd.

The weather turned out perfect for their big day and Crista Ballard Photography did a great job capturing all the moments. The first look was on the bridge outside the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown.  The look on Mason’s face when he saw Steph was priceless… their love is strong!

Their parents shared in the love and this picture is explains it all. Two great families being united through this marriage.

The ceremony was at Oak Hills Baptist Church and the reception followed at Willow Run. The florals were designed by Elaborations by Joyce Naber. Our friends at Simply Devine Wedding and Events provided us with the rental items. Also, thank you Savvy Chair Covers! It was a beautiful wedding with bold colors and so many personal touches.

DJ Eran from DJ Jer Company emceed and lead the dance! The cake was done by Janet Kennedy. Their food prepared by Chef Jeni was so delicious and unique. They opted for a buffet of their favorite foods featuring a mini taco bar, mac n’ cheese bar & mini burger sliders! A popcorn bar from Poppy’s Popcorn, doughnuts from Fly Boy & cupcakes from Hy-Vee completed the dessert bar.

Steph- we were a stunning bride! Thank you for choosing myself & Serendipitous to help with your big day! Mason- Thank you for your service to our country and for allowing me to be apart of your big day. It was so great to get to know you and all of your friends that came from many states! Cheers to FOREVER!

The Magician Behind the Matrimony

The Magician Behind the Matrimony

Hey guys! It’s Ray here from Serendipitous Events! This past weekend I got the opportunity to help out with my first wedding as an intern with everyone’s favorite planner; Loghin Welch and let me tell you… I heavily underestimated everything a planner does on the day of a wedding. WOWZA.

I’ve been planning my wedding (just like every other little girl) since I could talk. But until I was in high school, I had never even heard of a “wedding planner” before and when I mentioned it to anyone, I was always told they were “unnecessary” or, “You can just do all of that yourself. It’s cheaper.” Maybe some of you feel the same way, but I’m telling you now I believe everyone who wants a stress-free, gorgeous wedding day NEEDS A PLANNER. Still not convinced? Well good because we are just getting started here… 😉

The wedding I helped with this past weekend was nothing short of care-free and happy. There wasn’t a moment I didn’t see the bride smiling and glowing (as every bride should be on their wedding day) and I attribute a lot of that to having a planner. Any time there was a question, Loghin was the woman with the answer. The bride didn’t have to worry about a thing because no one was jumping all over her with little questions every five minutes. Any time there was a little issue or even just the smallest question, the bride was never bothered with it. Instead she got to truly enjoy her day, sit back and just take it all in. After all, it is the happiest day of a girl’s life. She should be able to enjoy it as such!

Another thing I have noticed at weddings in the past is that often the mother of the bride/groom tends to be running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off; something that wouldn’t have to happen with a planner! I noticed during the wedding this weekend both mothers were enjoying the day/night and they looked so happy. They weren’t trying to direct people or making sure everything was going smoothly because they simply knew it was. I personally want my mother and mother-in-law to be able to be that relaxed and able to enjoy the day to the full extent someday at my own wedding.

Something else I realized too is that the vendors at the wedding were all fantastic, and Loghin interacted with them all like family. If you want to work with trustworthy vendors who provide quality work, it’s so important to work with a planner who knows the field; someone who knows who’s the best or who’s a flop. After all, it’s literally Loghin’s job as a planner to know these things. Doesn’t it make so much more sense to go to someone who really knows their stuff, than to have to start from scratch and hope for the best on the day of? That sounds like a potential headache waiting to happen. YIKES.

So you’re probably a pretty busy person, right? We all have our junk that ties up our days. It’s hard to catch a minute. I mean half the time I make a coffee in the morning and realize at 6:30 when I get home that evening that yes, that coffee is still there completely untouched and freezing cold because LIFE GETS FULL, and it’s easy to forget even the smallest things. We’re all rushing from work to the gym to Target, trying to remember to shovel a few bites of a food in now and then, and maybe get a wink of sleep if we aren’t cramming for an exam or waking up in the middle of the night to a screaming baby. Whatever your “busy” is, can you imagine having to plan the biggest day of your life on top of that?! Doesn’t it make more sense to go to a person who’s profession literally is to do just that?! I certainly think so!

Again, I really never understood just how much a planner does “the day of” until I was fully immersed in it. It was amazing watching Loghin work. People trusted her, looked to her for answers, and she was always there to go the extra mile to make the day the best it could be. That’s something everyone needs at their wedding. One moment Loghin was laughing and talking with the family, and they next she was bussing tables, and not because it was her job but because at Serendipitous we are committed to going above the expected. A wedding planner is so much more than just a “planner.” Loghin was a stylist, a director, a therapist, a chauffeur, and so much more… We want the bride and groom to know that they can just let loose and have a good time because everything is under control from our side. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to be 100% present for your wedding. It’s YOUR day; be all there for it. 🙂
